If there is one thing we can all agree on, it is that we should be all in for our children’s health. Just like my great niece was “all in” while leaping off the pier, we need to be “all in” when forming the dietary habits of our children.
The fact is that they are dependent on us for the habits they develop nutritionally. It only makes sense that their diet is based on what we provide them. Their activities are based on what they see happen in their own home. They come into the world unprogrammed…we as adults, program them. We do the best we know how, based on how we were imprinted.
Where am I going with this? It all goes back to habits. Habits are formed from daily rituals. If they are healthful and expanding, they will attract health and well being. If they are destructive they will cause disease and the groove will become a rut that is hard to pull out of.
So let’s look to the kids and give them these gifts:
- a healthy diet filled with whole foods
- sleep
- exercise
- limited tech time
- love and attention
I had a woman once tell me her 4 year old would only eat Doritos and she was offended when I told her that it was her fault. I actually said, “I have yet to see a 4 year old buying Doritos at Piggly Wiggly”.
It is on us.
We are so pleased to announce that Standard Process has FINALLY started a children’s line! The first product in this lineup is a Children’s Immune.
This is a home-run product
- It has Colostrum -the vital nutrient in first breast milk that provides so many immune immunoglobulins.
- It has 2FL which is a prebiotic that feeds only the good bacteria in the gut! Why the gut? Because 80% of your immune system resides around you gut.
- It has whole food vitamin C, D and zinc from foods like elderberry and strawberry.
In my eyes it is even a great multiple for kids.
My recommendations are:
- 3 days a week in summer
- 1 a day at the start of school
- 2 a day at the onset of illness
So invest in all of our future by imprinting good habits into our children.
